Trip With Ford

Hello Loves,

As I write this, I am sat on my bed under a mountain of blankets, shivering like a fool as I am sick as heck! I am left only to dream about last week, when I was well and having the absolute time of my life in Montreal with Ford.

You probably saw glimpses of this trip on my Insta story… if you didn’t then your obviously not following me, and that’s just plain rude. Anyway, I had the ultimate honour of being selected along with around 20 other fabulous members of the community, to fly out to Montreal with Ford to put some of their popular SUVS to the test on a winter adventure.

After landing at Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, we were put in pairs and given directions to our lunch spot. I was paired with my blogger bestie Darlene (@thenewgirldar) and a burgundy Ford Flex, this was destined to be a good time. Which it was… we blasted Hip Hop nation on SiriusXM and sank into the comfy leather seats. However this good time quickly turned from joy to stress as we got so completely lost… probably because we were too busy grooving! We were so lost, we actually had to call the Ford peeps to help us… bless them as they stood on the side of the road waving at every Ford car that passed in the hopes that it was us. Ugh, anyway eventually we made it, 30 mins late but at least we didn’t give up. We were then given a quick feast of delicious eats, played with a dog, and then hauled back onto road to the hotel… this time in the Ford Escape.

Now you guys know how much I love the Ford Escape, I don’t really need to go into it as I have written an entire post proclaiming my love. But I will say, I still adore the Ford Escape. Once we got to our home for the night (The Estérel resort… review to follow), we had approximately 10 mins to pee, throw on some winter gear, and get our booty’s outside… because it was time to go snowmobiling! This is where the true Canadian winter adventure starts, can you believe I have NEVER gone snowmobiling, and although I didn’t get the chance to drive… my friend Chad hogged it, I had a blast! The cold refreshing air hitting my face making my eyes pour, Chad making the darn thing do jumps… throwing me high into the air, It was incredible. But this isn’t where our day ends… Oh no. It was time to do a spot of ice sculpting. After watching the pro take a chain saw to a block of ice and producing the most gorgeous and intricate deer, we were handed a chisel, a block of ice and were somehow expected to produce a heart. Although my ended up looking more like a circle than a heart, I was pretty proud. The rest of our evening consisted of a fabulous three course dinner, followed by s’mores outside by the fire pit, and an early evening cozied up in my hotel room.

The next day it was up bright and early. Following a brief breakfast, Darlene and I hopped into one of Ford’s larger and may I say… most badass car, the Explorer. Driving along whindy roads with gorgeous views of snow covered hills, we eventually reached our destination. There we were greeted by a team of expert NASCAR drivers… they were not only going to teach us how to drive, but also risk our lives in some serious off roading adventures. First I was paired off with my good friend Johnathan (@MrCavaliere) and our driver who seemed like to be the boss of the show. We were given an obstacle course that we had to complete…. which we totally did, and in style I may add, in not only the Escape but also the big badass Explorer. Then we hopped into a Ford Raptor truck where the drivers got to go crazy, whipping us around an off road track… it was pretty insane. Just when I thought I was safe, it wasn’t over, with helmet on head, Nascar driver by side we sped off in a super cute Ford RS onto a icy track. My driver laughed hysterically as I clung to anything I could get my hands on, I mean to my defence those little cars are powerful. Once delivered safe and sound it was the last event of our trip, dog sledding! You have no idea how long I have wanted to dog sled, it’s a bucket list item. I sat in the slay covered in blankets while the rain poured down around me, I had Darlene and our instructor on the back guiding the dogs and we were off. Into the great white beautiful snow… it truly was as magical as you could imagine it to be. I never wanted it to end… but it had to, unfortunately it was time to head home.

After kisses and cuddles of goodbyes to our new friends from all around the country, to the airport we went. Chauffeured by my girlfriend Sydney (@Syd.hoff) in of course the good old Ford Escape, we arrived safe and sound to where it all began. A quick 1 hour flight back to Toronto, and we were home.

I want to thank Ford and their crew for creating everlasting memories for my new/old friends and I. Although it was a brief trip it was the most magical 48hours of my life.

This was such a fun read because now my husband works for Ford 🙂 So now I have to tell him to bring home an explorer so I can give it a little test drive; I love the vibrant blue you guys drove in! It sounds like you had such a wonderful time doing these snow activities. The most I’ve ever done was ice-skating, which was forever ago, haha. Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you’re having a great week so far!
