Many of you know I am a sucker for small businesses. In fact, the majority of my family runs small businesses and I’ve grown up working in them or running my own. Small businesses are the back bone of society and are definitely in need, especially right now.
That’s why I always love to shop at Etsy! This incredible marketplace directly gets you in touch with small businesses worldwide. Unlike other marketplaces, Etsy helps small businesses directly. You are basically buying from your local vendor across the world. CRAZY!

Etsy is hosting the second-annual Etsy Design Awards (#TheEtsies), which basically means, we get to celebrate the very best of Etsy from around the WORLD! From thousands of entries, Etsy has narrowed down the top 100 items across 10 categories as finalists in this year’s competition (the winners will be announced in October!) And this year, they’ve introduced a $5,000 USD People’s Choice Award for the finalist who receives the most new favourites during the voting period. Yep, you got that right, now is our chance to get involved and help select our favourite products to win. What is Favouriting on Etsy?
Well quite simply put, you can favourite your favourite products and create specific lists to categorize them. It basically curates your own shoppable store. I love using this feature when planning a remodel or just a change up in my home. In fact I just created a list, called “Kitchen”, and selected all the products I love. This is a cool way to create a mood board for that room and makes shopping for those unique finds so much easier. Check our my favourites HERE!
Who Am I Favouriting?
Omi Woods! I recently stumbled across founder Ashley McFarlane and her contemporary jewelry designs when a couple of my incredibly fashionable friends featured her on their stories. I instantly fell in love with her creations and the fact that celebrates her connection to Africa through her heirloom designs. Not only are all her pieces down right stunning!! Each piece of jewelry is individually and ethically handmade with fair-trade African gold and globally sourced, conflict-free fine metals. The COWRIE Infinity Necklace is the perfect polishing piece to any outfit. I can dress it up with a cute little black number, or rock it with my uniform of sneakers and tracksuit. I just love this piece, and all that it is.
