Time is flying by and the dreaded thought of Spring cleaning is stepping on my heels. This year, I decided to get a head start on the out with the old and have a go at clearing out my closet.
Standing in my overflowing walk-in, I realized I’m a hoarder… gross! My closet houses some truly weird shit… such as my PJ’s from when I was about 12, they don’t fit anymore (obviously) and have a hole in the butt area, but they remind me of Christmas day and opening gifts from Santa and they also have a really cute floral print all over them.
I hoard items that I won’t ever wear again, but there will be some stupid story of this one time when I wore it and something happened. Like the sweater I wore when I first tried In N Out Burger… stupid, I know.
So this year, I devised a plan to figure out what to keep and what to donate.
- If I haven’t worn it in the past year, chuck it
- If it makes my husband laugh it’s probably not a keeper
- If I can’t share it on the blog, I don’t think it’s suitable for the public
- If it doesn’t fit now, it never will
- If it’s on the worst trends list, it’s ugly
This plan worked, I was able to clear a huge amount of my closet… 6 bags worth to be exact! Although, I miss the things that were once there, I am made happier again by the prospect of shopping and filling that newly created space. Ughhh, I think I have a problem!
