Wear Your Tech ft BestBuy

Hello Loves,

When I think about wearable tech, my mind flashes back to those useless ugly pagers. Apparently it’s not the 1990’s anymore, in fact Cher (from Clueless) would be 37 by now! Technology in fashion is now a thing and wearing technology is a fashion statement.

I was recently given the exciting opportunity to attend the 2nd annual Best Buy Life & Tech Expo’ to learn a little more about the innovations in technology and how to incorporate it into your everyday fashion. Dundas Square was taken over by this exciting and free event. They had a variety of tents showcasing cutting-edge technology for you to try. The Kate Spade tent was by far my fav (obviously), as it featured the much loved Kate Spade brand but with a twist… Did you know Kate Spade is now offering fitness trackers and smartwatches?!… and they are all so cute!!

But the highlight of this event, the pièce de résistance, as I like to Google, was the FASHION SHOW finale!!! Although we were unsure if this show would even happen due to weather permittance (if you follow me on Snapchat, username Filzer, then you would know what I’m talking about… if you don’t then you should), but come hell or high waters (literally) the show would go on. Oh boy am I glad it did. I was so inspired by the use of technology in fashion, from the super slick Monster Elements headphones, which offer direct digital USB audio, to the … move over GoPro, here comes the iON Snapcam! This unique piece of tech is a 1.5 inch square, wearable camera that allows 2 hours of HD 720p video recording! It’s actually pretty amazing and cool. But I think my faaaaaav item of the show was the Noon VR (virtual reality for y’all lamo’s that don’t know… JK I had no clue either) headset. Now, I know these things have been around for donkeys years (as my Mum would say), but they have never been this compact or slick. Not only did the model make this ‘wearable tech’ look super cool, it actually is cool… it turns any smartphone into a personal virtual reality device… your own personal cinema!

Attending this event has given me a whole new perspective on technology. It truly is the must have accessory. This is a trend that I am desperate to be apart of… first on my list, the classic Fitbit.

This looks and sounds like such a cool event, girl! I’ve never really been into tech or gadgets, but when they’re cute, then you’ve got my attention, haha. I love that leaf pendent necklace, you wouldn’t even know it’s anything but a necklace! I love Kate Spade, too. Anything and everything she makes is amazingly cute, so I can imagine her take on tech! Thanks so much for sharing, gorgeous, and I hope you’re having the most amazing week so far!

I have yet to jump on the FitBIT trend too! I am far too attached to my usual bracelets to substitute them for the FitBIT haha. The iON looks slick though! I might have to make a small detour to Best Buy soon!
