Shangri-La Toronto

Hello Loves!

Recently I had the honour of having a mini girls #staycation at the amazing Shangri-La Toronto. Staying at the Shangri-La was one of the most magical experiences of my life. I roomed with my girlfriend Roxanne West of Bonjour Bliss Blog, we knew we were in for fun time, but most certainly weren’t expecting the celebrity treatment we were graced with.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted at our car by Andrew and his crew of stylish men, who made us feel amazing from the moment we stepped out of the car. We were not allowed to lift a finger… they had it all covered. After emptying a rather loaded car (to my defense we were there during fashion week… and a girl needs options) they graciously showed us to our suite… yep you heard me SUITE!

Now this part is like every scene out of a rags to riches story, Andrew opened the door the heavens sang and our jaws dropped. This one bedroom suite was made for royalty, and boy were we being treated like queens. It was spacious, plush and luxurious and had not one, but two marble bathrooms!!! There were even fresh coffee’s waiting for us with our names on (although I am allergic to caffeine this gesture was not wasted on me), instead I enjoyed a delicious pot of Chinese tea… and of course champagne… yum!

Back to the hotel, the Shangri-La Toronto is stunning, beautiful and incredibly well equipped. Boasting high tea, a blow dry bar, state of the art gym, a yoga studio, a pool with decked out cabanas, a luxury Miraj Hammam spa, and an award winning restaurant, BOSK.

Thanks to Shangri-La, we were able to experience quite a bit of what this hotel has to offer. After feasting on room service breakfast (enough for about 5 people) which was ordered on an iPad… yep this place is super cool, we then headed to a high tea worthy of a tiara (hint hint this is a great place to take mama…. mother’s day is quickly approaching). High tea offers its guests a choice of teas, 75 to be exact and a 3 tier stand full of delicious decadence… My fav was the traditional cucumber sandwiches (you can take the Brit our of England, but you can’t take England out of the Brit). After a brief appearance at Toronto Fashion Week, we headed for dinner at BOSK. BOSK is a whole other story, I literally have never tried anything like it before… every single item was mouth watering. Again we over ordered but I had to try as much as possible. I ordered oysters more than once (they were soooo good), a lightly smoked salmon that came on a bed of mash and potatoes chips! And for dessert… everything on the menu thank you very much. I have to admit during my food coma I did feel rather guilty of experiencing this culinary delight without Sameer (I might have to take him back… if he’s a good boy).

Now you would think that after all of this we would don our plush white robs and retire for the evening, nope not a chance… I had to check out the pool. So off we went, hair in scrunchies, hotel slippers and robes on to find the pool. After a quick dip and a SnapChat (username Filzer) or two in the pool side cabana’s it was off to bed for us. With dreams of champagne walls, fish in floors and the breakfast that awaited us tomorrow.

I know that this posting has been an exceptionally long one, but there is just so much to tell. I haven’t really finished my story… I could go on for the rest of my life talking about my two night stay in heaven, but my loved ones might get tired of me living behind a computer screen. My experience at Shangri-La Toronto, which you can probably already guess, was sensational. Every staff member was kind and courteous, the food is something that I will be dreaming of for the rest of my life… and by looking at all the other guests everyone seemed just really happy.

I want to thank Shangri-La Toronto for hosting us during Toronto Fashion Week, you made our time in the city all the more special. I can’t wait to plan more stays at Shangri-La …. maybe NYC?

Yes, come to NYC! This place looks amazing, I love the modern, luxe decor and layout of the room. I know that you must have really enjoyed your stay. My husband and I have talked about doing a stay-cation sometime, but we always seem to forget. I think it’s a great idea because you get a temporary break from reality and really get the change to explore your city, usually from the view of a tourist. Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you’re having a great week so far, beauty!

The room looks perfect! It’s rare to have hotel bathrooms with windows but not in this case. It must have been such a great experience to stay there.

I have always wanted to go to Toronto. The few people that I know that has traveled there gave it rave reviews although I hear it is pretty expensive. Nevertheless it is on my bucket list.
