A day with FORD

Hello Loves!

If you follow me on Snapchat then you will already know, that last week I had the honour of attending a full day event to celebrate the release of the 2017 Ford Fusion. Now if you don’t follow me on Snapchat, I do firstly ask the question to why? Although I’m sure all your allotted Snapchat time is filled up with the Kardashian clan. I guess I forgive you. Anyway don’t worry I’m going to do a full catch up of last Friday’s adventures.

So let’s start this blog off by saying… I DON’T KNOW A THING ABOUT CARS. All I care about is if it can take me to the mall or not. But I gotta tell you, during our orientation I was hypnotized by what this line of cars can do. And although I can’t really repeat any of it… the guy used a lot of long words, I can tell you that these cars are safe, comfortable and all kinds of SEXY! These cars are perfect for any type of driver.

After refreshments courtesy of Balzac’s we were on the road. Looking like ballers in our burgundy 2017 Ford fusion with delicious cream interior, we cruised through downtown Toronto and got lost in the winding roads of the suburbs. Blasting old school hip hop (fun fact our driver for the day and my new friend Joel has a border line unhealthy obsession with old school hip hop haha) we were on our way to a picnic with the rest of the crew in the scenic Belfountain Conservation Area. Once our belly’s were full (I got 3 plates worth of goodies) we were able to take a quick walk over the suspension bridge that’s situated above the famous Belfountain falls and it was back in the car and onto the next stop.

It took about an hour of hip hop, Snapchats, and endless laughs to get to our next stop, The McMichael Canadian Art Collection. I am from a family of artists, Grandpa was an art professor, uncle an interior designer, cousin a fabulous sculptor and my own father a dealer of art. I know a thing or two about art, but when it comes to Canadian art I am left clueless. So this was an absolute treat for me. We were taken on a tour of the grounds learning extensively about Canada’s own, Group of Seven. I had heard about the Group of Seven, but never really paid attention, or to be honest never really had much appreciation for their work… it’s a little too classic for my taste… but to be immersed in the history of these painters, and the meaning behind their works was a true eye opener. I loved it.

Once we had learnt a thing or two on painting techniques, it was our turn to have a go. Time to channel our inner Group Of Seven. Our muse? A sexy all black 2017 Ford Fusion. Now I’m no Tom Thomson, HAH, but I think I did a pretty decent job….. Yes my clouds may have looked a little lumpy, and my mountain may have resembled one of my dogs excretions… but art is subjective and I went for a more abstract approach. Hehe.

Upon completion and dropping the paint brush like it’s hot (you know the thing rockstars do with microphones??) we were off on a quick gallery tour. McMichael pays tribute to so many amazingly talented and individual Canadian artists, from both past and present. It really is a must see. After working up a rather intense appetite, nibbles were served, allowing us to all to mingle as a group. I stuffed my face with cold meat and cheese, shrimp tacos and watered it down with maybe a little too much champagne… I didn’t know this was just a snack before dinner!! Giggling as we walked, we were shown to our table, a beautiful long table covered in flowers and candles with twinkly lights above surrounded by all of our works of art. It was a truly magical evening. We were fed like kings and enjoyed some of the most perfect company. The day was over, it was time to take our chauffeur driven ride home. With the 2017 Ford Fusion Energi Plug-In Hybrid gently rocking me in and out of consciousness, I dreamt of all the new friendships I had made. It’s a day I won’t forget. Thank you FORD.

This looks like such a fun event, girlie! I’m not familiar with FORD, but I know that they’ve come a long way in the industry in terms of their technological advancements. My husband is in the auto industry, so I know what I overhear him say, haha. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you’re having a great Friday so far!

Looks like such a fun time. That day with the car sounded great. Your painting with the car is actually REALLY good. I haven’t painted on canvas since high school and that probably would’ve taken me 5 years to do. lol
